Tampa, FL — In recognition of the second annual national Energy Efficiency Day (EE Day) on October 5, 2017, COI Energy Services is joining regional and national organizations, businesses, utilities, and individuals working to promote energy efficiency – the cheapest, quickest way to meet our energy needs, cut consumer bills and reduce pollution. Energy efficiency is also an economic engine, supporting 2.2 million jobs nationwide in manufacturing, construction and other fields – most of which can’t be outsourced overseas. This year, EE Day offers a national light bulb challenge to encourage engagement by residents and businesses alike.

We are pleased to be partners with the EE Day initiative since its inception by helping the industry promote the importance of energy efficiency. COI Energy exists primarily because we understand the importance of creating a more sustainable environment and economy in order to leave the world better off than when we found it for our children’s children. The COI OptimizerTM is a “One Touch Portal” that helps make the world more energy efficient by reducing energy consumption, reducing carbon footprint and creating a recurring revenue stream for businesses said SaLisa L. Berrien, CEO & Founder of COI Energy.

Smarter energy use means we don’t have to generate as much power to meet our needs. Many people don’t realize that COI Energy Services has already started to make significant, forward-thinking investments in energy savings, benefiting local job growth and utility customers.

An energy-efficient economy is free to thrive and innovate. Electricity use was 5 percent lower in 2016 than in 2010, while the U.S. economy grew by almost 13 percent over those years, demonstrating that efficiency and economic growth go hand-in-hand. Reducing the energy used by manufacturers, homes, and businesses benefit everyone – especially energy bill-payers. The total utility bill savings from energy efficiency reached nearly $23 billion per year in 2015 for businesses. That amount equaled 8% of total business spending on electricity and natural gas.

COI Energy helps electric power companies better engage with their business customers through energy optimization services. It is done by the monetization of excess energy capacity to help balance the electric grid. What better way to motivate customers to better engage with their electric utility company than by putting money in their pockets?

COI Energy’s patent-pending technology, COI OptimizerTM, sets them apart from its competitors by approaching customer engagement from an “All Things Energy” perspective. The COI OptimizerTM is a cloud-based solution that provides Utility companies a fast, simple and cost-effective way to intelligently manage their in-house DSM programs.

About #EEDay2017: On October 5, 2017, a growing network of advocates, companies, government agencies, utilities and others will join to showcase the benefits of energy efficiency and take the national light bulb challenge as part of the second annual national Energy Efficiency Day.
